kiddo's tummy is hurting this morning.. no school, no work... i'm going to be bored out of my damn skull today.

time for coffee.

kid's sick.
she takes a shower and has some pepto.
give her soup and tea.
go do yard work.
she comes outside and tells me she's fine.
i tell her she's going to school.
i take a shower (1).
take her to school.
come home, continue yard work.
get a call from school, she has a 103 fever, come pick her up.

go pick her up.
take her by the pediatrician without an appointment, get dirty looks.
nurse sees her, gives some motrin, and says come back at 1:50.
i'm not done with the yard, and will likely take a third shower.

finished the yard, got up 99% of the pecan flowers (which are 10x worse than oak flowers).
i take a shower (3).
take my kid with her 102 degree fever and chills to quick grab some tylenol.
give her some tylenol and put her to bed about 6.
eat dinner. finally sit down.
she's probably going to be out of commission tomorrow as well... if so, i'm going to try and squat 50 reps.

possibly the busiest work day ever. so tired of meetings.. and while i was in those meetings, a cocksucker emailed my boss to tell her he'd called/emailed me "multiple times" and received no response. she responded to defend me, but he's shitlisted.

i finally got fed up at another coworker's impotence and shot off my mouth at him. he probably hates my guts but fuck him, you don't get to have an easy project for almost two years you can't complete. it wasn't that bad when it didn't directly affect me, but guess what, it does now so he got both barrels, and my boss teamed up on him. the encounters drained me to the point of exhaustion. i had to hurry over to catch my kid's talent show after lunch and then back to work for more meetings.

she did a great job at her school talent show. no mommy to be seen of course. she didn't even ask how it went.. i texted her about it and got a "did you make a video? can you send it to me?" response. no, you don't get to parent by proxy, sorry, FU very much.

divorce is a horrible thing, truly. for some time i thought the worst part of it was the loss of love. but love, like happiness, is a temporary thing. what's become ever so much more apparent is the loss of support. you simply can no longer count on that person. today m needed hair and makeup for her dance pictures, and my ex was nowhere to be seen. i can still count on my family, and they came through, but the whole experience -- watching all those moms put effort (and love) into their daughters -- really saddened and tired me out.

i've also learned there are other forms of divorce: smaller divorces, still capable of rending you from a person, a concept, or construct of your life. i am divorced from so much of the past, and each day evermore divorced from the present, and i'm curious how long it will take before i'll have the power to divorce myself from the future. perhaps this will never happen.. who knows.
